I never really understand why when you get a beautiful arrangement of long stem roses, after about a day in a vase with water they start to bend at the neck or seem like they are about to die. It totally sucks!(urgh) Does it mean they were at their end when they were purchased, they were a bad batch to begin with or some other reason? I would really like to know in order to avoid this from happening in the future. Anyone who knows about roses?

This is for the north side of a house. In the summer, the morning sun and afternoon sun shine on it, but, the rest of the year, it’s shady. We want roses because they bloom from April through October. All our other flowers only bloom a few months.

As the locust trees are about 40 feet tall, I can only assume that the roses were planted first, when it was sunny — maybe 30 years ago? Is there anyway to identify the breed of these without the blooms?

Last year my husband tilled part of our lawn and we replanted new grass, but our lawn looks very unhealty with a lot of try, burned like spots. What can I do to have a healthy lawn, and how do I go about creating my flower bed around the tree. I like to put a border around the tree like a small wall maybe. I want the flower bed be higher than the actual lawn. We have mostly clay dirt. Can you give me some advice and/or help. Thanks.

Some say Hydroponic grown vegetables are the same as usual conventionally grown vegetables. Or is something missing. Or can Produce grown through Hydroponics without soil be differentiated from Produce grown in soil.

already i’m kind of sore from planting and weeding. it’s so friggin chilly out even though a few days ago it was warm. How do i keep from getting bored by gardening? i enjoy it but sometime it leave me feeling jaded.
