How do I preserve potted plants for the winter?
Posted by Milly in Other - Home & Garden on 12 30th, 2008I have potted plants that were growing outside during the summer, I want to bring them inside for the winter. How do I get rid of the little bugs in the soil? Do I have to re-plant them in new potting soil?

I was wondering if there`s a way to keep them from dieing in the fall and winter season, or if they even will considering they arent planted in the ground.
I also wanted to know if there are vegetables or fruits i can plant in fall and winter and be able to eat in the spring and summer?

Any suggestions on what plants will winter well outside? I’d like to have some geraniums, but don’t know if they will stand the cold. Also, what about herbs?

i have a small ivy plant.
& i just got a catnip plant.
i need to put each of them in a different pot, i know that much.
but how can i keep them alive during the winter?
i just moved to massachusetts O.o
& keeping em by the heater isn’t doing much for me either.

I want to liven the place up with garden plants. But I know its coming on winter – do I HAVE to wait for spring to get greeneries in pots or in the ground? Appreciate any help from you gardeners.

I live in NC, so it’s starting to cool off. What should I do with these plants this winter? I’m scared they’ll die in the pots. Please help!!!
