I’m wanting to have an all organic vegetable garden in the spring, how do i do this?
Posted by Milly in Garden & Landscape on 02 26th, 2009I can’t use any kinds of pesticides because of my asthma, so anything I do has to be organic. I know I’m wanting to plant some tomatoes, cucumbers, maybe some watermelon, and maybe some pumkins. What all do I need to know before I start this little project of mine? Thanks!

When should we prepare our soil for a new garden? Fall or Spring?
Posted by Milly in Garden & Landscape on 02 21st, 2009We live in MN, have 1950 square feet to use, and would like to do whatever neccessary to plant in the springtime. I think we are supposed to first remove the grass and then till the soil, but when should we do this, and what should we add to the tilling process? Thanks.

Gladiolus flowers for bridesmaids?
Posted by Milly in Weddings on 02 18th, 2009I was thinking about doing lilies for my bms, but then I saw a flower called gladiolus, and they are awesome. They are long with several blooms on one stem. I saw pics of another bride who had these, and the girls carried them cradled in one arm since they are so long. Question is- if they carry those will it look okay if I still carry tulips?

Gladiolus help! I planted Gladiolus bulbs in my flower garden this spring, and they haven’t bloomed yet?
Posted by Milly in Garden & Landscape on 02 17th, 2009The leaves are at least 3 feet long, but I don’t see anything even resembling a flower spike yet. Are these bulbs biennials? Could there be a problem with the soil, or amount of sun they get? The bulbs were planted in late spring, in rich soil, and get full sun. The leaves appear healthy.
