read comments (3)How do I prune a Hydrangea?
Posted by Milly in Garden & Landscape on 03 28th, 2010I am new to gardening, and we just had a hydrangea planted outside in the flower bed. It is wilting and starting to turn. How do I prune it. Where do the blooms come in? I don’t see any buds like how I would see on say a Gardenia. I am afraid if I cut, I will cut in the wrong place and only have stems left with no blooms.

Our hydrangea has brown leaves. What could be wrong, and what should I do to help it?
Posted by Milly in Garden & Landscape on 03 14th, 2010We went on vacation for 3 weeks, and returned to see our hydrangea, which we have in a pot inside, have brown leaves.
Do you know what could be wrong with it, and what we should do to help it?
If it needs a special food, what can I give it that you do not buy at a garden center?
Can I plant a potted hydrangea from a florist outside?
Posted by Milly in Garden & Landscape on 03 11th, 2010I bought a Nikko hydrangea for indoors but I want to transplant it into my outdoor flower bed now. Is this a good idea? I’m in zone 5 so it should be hardy enough. Is it the same as the start I would get at a nursery or are they specially adapted to be indoors only?

If I buy a potted blue hydrangea, can I keep it alive in a pot, or must it be planted?
Posted by Milly in Garden & Landscape on 03 7th, 2010I saw a beautiful potted blue hydrangea, and was wondering if I bought it, could I keep it alive in a pot, or must it be planted? If it can be kept alive in a pot, how? I live in an apartment (with a cat) and very little light. Do they need to be outside/inside? When it is winter, do they die, or will they come back?
Thanks!
