HYACINTH MACAW ESCAPES TRAPPER: A Clip from WINGED MIGRATION
wildlifeguardian asked:
“THE GREAT ESCAPE!” This is a Clip from the Movie “WINGED MIGRATION” (Le Peuple Migrateur, 2003) by Jacques Perrin. It shows a Hyacinth Macaw in the Amazon in Peru escaping from a Trapper’s Boat (probably a staged scene — powerful, nevertheless, in conveying the very real plight & suffering of these animals…). PLEASE also WATCH: “DEDICATED TO THE INDONESIAN PARROT PROJECT” by SecondChanceBirds and VISIT: www.indonesian-parrot-project.org They are headquartered in the US and their mission is to STOP the TRAPPING of wild Parrots by educating local people and helping them find alternative methods of income. Furthermore, they rehabilitate and release captured Parrots back into the wild. To find out more about the PLIGHT OF OUR DOMESTIC PARROTS who are lingering in increasing numbers in Parrot Rescues across the country, watch some of the Videos under “My Favorites” and visit: www.mytoos.com AND www.parrotsperch.com And remember…’DON’T BUY, DON’T BREED, ADOPT A PARROT IN NEED!’ Thank you… RECORDING METHOD: CABLE TV to DVR to DVD to Computer to YouTube…

@TheMuffinBurgler Agree, also there are breeders that Only breed birds for breeding stock by Not hand raising them, these birds are exchanged all the time. So it’s not necessary to demand ‘wild caught birds’ in order to breed. The exotic pet bird trade can exist without? any illegal bird activities.

@TheMuffinBurgler well if people would’nt buy them at all none of it would happen lol, my point is birds should’nt be in cages at all .

@PinkSaltire08 Buying baby birds is what STOPS this from happening. Buying captive bred birds is a huge fork in the electrical plug for poachers.

if people would stop buying baby birds this would not happen , so sad

Sadly Koda WPR refuge almost closes down every year, so ‘home for life’ is actually ‘death row’ for many birds. Huntbatch informs visitors she prefer they were dead than rehome. Other bird rescues also have hyacinths.

This seems staged, but it happens, and the heart break is just as powerful if not more-so. Have you seen the cages of African grays stuffed to the gills? Often they die from asphyxiation.
Do you notice how none of those birds fly alone? They’re very social, intelligent, loving, and don’t deserve imprisonment.
Real bird lovers adopt birds.

Do all you can to help them and do right by them.

I feel so fortunate to be able to help out where I live, I visit the world parrot refuge on vancouver island. When I visit though, I’m more like a volunteer because I help the workers out and I have gained a few parrot friends, including a beautiful hyacinth macaw

Yay for the Hyacinth. I would have been really happy if the monkeys got away too. I don’t understand why human kind keeps taking these beloved creatures from the wild for their profit and or destruction.
