   Hydroponics or hydroculture is a method of growing plants using mineral nutrient solutions instead of soil. It is particularly important as it leads to plants being able to grow in places where fertile soil is not available. I heard on the news that NASA is considering using this technique to grow plants in space to provide food for the astronauts because it is expensive to transport food from Earth to the space station and its difficult to carry soil to grow plants

   It is where you are growing plants in a water solution with minerals and stuff your plants need rather than getting them from soil. It’s a great way to grow plants indoors especially if you are in an area where it’s too cold to grow them. The most frequent use of hydroponics is for growing marijuana for clandestine reasons.

   SOILLESS GROWING OF PLANTS WHERE THE PLANTS HANG FROM THE CEILING GETTING FEED AND WATERD THROUGH A WATERING SYSTEM IN A GREENHOUSE ESPECIALLY DESIGNED FOR THAT TYPE OF GROWING .DISNEYWORLD IN EPCOT HAD THE FIRST IN THE COUNTRY WHEN IT FIRST OPENED.
   GOOD IN THOSE ARID ENVIROMENTS WHERE SOIL EROSION MAKES PLANTING IMPOSSISBLE.

   Hydroponics is basically a method of growing plants without soil. Instead of having to compete with other plants for nutrients in the soil, hydroponic plants thrive on a nutrient solution that is administered directly and which contains all the necessary minerals.

   The term hydroponics is derived from Greek and literally means ‘working water’. Many people use the term hydroponics to describe any methods of growing that does not use soil (although some scientists dispute this definition).

   WHY WE NEED HYDROPONICS:
   Hydroponics offers opportunities to provide optimal conditions for plant growth and therefore, higher yields can be obtained compared to open field agriculture.

   * Most hobby hydroponic gardens are less work than soil gardens because you do not have soil to till or weeds to pull.

   * By eliminating the soil in a garden, you eliminate all soil borne disease

   * A hydroponic garden uses a fraction of the water that a soil garden does because no water is wasted or consumed by weeds.

   * In hydroponics, plant spacing can be intensive, allowing you to grow more plants in a given space than soil grown produce.

   * A small hydroponic garden can be set up almost anywhere.

   * By providing the exact nutrients your plants need, they will grow more rapidly and produce bigger yields.

   * In studies it has been proven that hydroponic produce is higher in nutritional value than field grown crops.

   * Hydroponic produce generally tastes better than field-grown produce.
