Bare-rooted Pros: Cheap, more variety, already well-pruned. Cons: Often grafted onto rootstock that may be unsuitable for your area. you must keep roots damp until planting. Potted roses Pros: You can see what the flowers will be like, there is already healthy foliage, and it is bigger. Can plant all year round. Cons: more expensive. you will probably have to prune it a bit when planting. Good luck with your decision... roses are fabulous.
