How do I move my miniature roses?

I just moved into a new house and the lady that lived here before me has several mini roses planted in the back yard along the fence line that I would like to move to a different location but I’m not sure what to do. I live in southeast Louisiana, the bushes are each about a foot tall with a few long shoots. They appear to be climbers and have not yet bloomed. I want to move them to the front of the house so that they can climb the bricks. This area is shaded in the morning and gets full sun as the day goes on. Any tips on preparing the new bed as well as how to actually get them to climb the wall would be helpful too!

wait till a mild day in spring. dig deep around the root base. then after digging pull lighty up wiggling the roots from the ground replant in a place so they get plenty of sun and water them 30mins before sunset everyday.

Before you move any plant of this nature make sure it is going to get the same sun and water that allowed them to survive. If the plant has not already climbed a fence it is not a climbing rose planting. Mini-roses do not climb.
Go to your new gardening center and purchase both triells and climbing roses. They will give you sound advice given the soil content and needs of your bed.
The sage said let sleeping dog’s lie. This applies to plantings.
To transplant established roses is to invite disaster.

Dig them up carefully in the spring. First off make sure the rose bed will be in full sun.
Make sure you leave all of their roots intact. I would prepare their new bed with alot of peatmoss and manure and new potting soil.
Always make sure you water the roses early in the morning. Never water in the evening. watering in the evening will cause moisture to set on the plants and cause mildew and black spot which could kill the roses.
Miracle Gro products makes a very good fertilizer for roses also. good luck.
With the proper care your roses will live and bloom for many years to come.
