I have 2 praying mantis sacks in my garden. How do I store them through the winter for hatching next spring?
munrowski asked:
They are attached to a Thai Basil plant which will die off with the first real frost, leaving the sacks exposed to birds etc. I have a very cold room in my apartment, should the sacks be kept there in a paper bag or paper container?

That should work, as long as the temperature doesn’t go below freezing.

They need to be outdoors to follow the same life cycle that they would if they were formed on something that wasn’t going to die down like the basil plant. Move them to a protected spot in the garden and they will hatch when the temperature is right.
