Hi neighbor (SC) you can grow just about anything you want. Herbs want full sun as do wild flowers. I have lots of jasmine growing wild - want some? Contact my avatar, I'll dig it up and send it to you.

First to answer about the confederate Jasmine can be obtained at Lowes and Home depot nurseries. It is one of their biggest sellers in March and April. Early March would be ideal planting time. So when you say that you want to plant a vegetable and herb garden, you are telling me that you have plenty of early morning sun. This will be ideal for their continued success as we go into the summer months. You have a lot of humidity and can be plagued by red spider. For your wildflowers, try purple cone flower with garden phlox, columbine, hosta's for shady locations. You can also seed in larkspur toward the back of the bed, as they get tall. Splashes of white caladiuns will also add a nice texture. There are no set rules, just have fun and plant whatever excites you.

Hi:
I am a landscape and designer in zone seven. There are so many wonderful different plant specimens for you to grow. A herb, vegetable and flower garden is a wonderful idea. I did a page on my website this summer on doing a herb, vegetable and flower garden. You can actually grow your own herbs from seeds during the winter months inside and have them ready to go in the spring.

I will link you to my vegetable garden page. I will also link you to my landscape article page where there is an article on growing herbs from seeds. I will also link you to my site map where this page has everything on my site. I hope this information will give you some great ideas to prepare for your spring garden.
Take a look at the gallery of plant section as this section has many photos and descriptions of different plant specimens.

Good luck to you and feel free to contact me at the website if you need any further help. Have a great day!
