Some shade, resulting in a few less hours of full sun is better for many plants in Summers here. While last Summer we encountered a "monsoon season", this Summer has been relentless heat and drought. Only my slghtly shaded garden areas have done well. Gardening must reflect the specific area & climatic conditions where it is done.
