I have some hydrangea clippings that are just starting to get roots. Should I hold these indoors until next spring to plant outside, or should I go ahead and plant them now? I’m worried they might not be strong enough to survive winter. If I hold them until spring, where should I keep them through the winter?

tree? I love the look of them. My little bush has about 5 woody base branches and it produces lots of blooms, but it droops all over the place and looks sad. I am planning for next season as I live in the North.

I have a store-bought macrophylla hydrangea (which I love!) and most of the blooms have died as summer is winding down. I’ve read that I am supposed to deadhead the spent blooms, but I’m not sure where exactly to cut. If I cut under a pair or two of leaves below the flowering part, won’t I be left with a bunch of cut stems on my plant? Will they ever grow from those stems again or should I just cut the stems completely from the bottom? But then I wouldn’t be left with much of a plant at all! There are a few new stems that haven’t flowered yet this year but still, that isn’t much if that’s all that’s left. I am new to growing hydrangeas and would appreciate any help anyone has to offer. The climbing hydrangea was so strong that it destroyed my front steps. I have no other choice than removing it. Now we have new front steps, and would like to plant something in that area. Can anyone give us some ideas? The existing plants in our front lawn are a few hollies, a few rhododendrons and 2 small evergreen bushes with tiny leaves.

My mother and I are getting mother-daughter tattoos for my 18th birthday and she has put me in charge of coming up with a tattoo. I have a couple of ideas floating around, one of which involves a hydrangea flower, the other involves a swallow so I’m looking for a good combination for the two. I thought of putting them together, but I’m not sure. Any advice or ideas?

I have two hydrangea bushes with white, almost looks like bird poop, on the underside of the leaves and some on the stems.
I wasn’t sure if it was a fungus and what to do about it.
