The garden around my koi pond and hand feeding koi

The garden around the above ground koi pond my husband built. It has butterfly bush, rose of sharon, purple coneflower, monarda and some ferns. The back has bamboo. All this helps with the heat of the day as it shades the pond in late afternoon. The koi are hand feeding in this video. When I tap the side of the pond all the fish know that it is feeding time or treat time and they come swimming to the side!

Actually, I have always had a uv and change the bulb annually, what really cleared up my water to crystal clear was putting a large tetra choice filter #3 in the back of the waterfall (outside the pond) with bio media balls, and two filters, one carbon and the other the usual blue material. Cleaned it out regularly and totally clear. Still only had a problem with string algae, but no floating pea soup looking to the water. Any suggestions on string algae? Used barley, didnt help

make sure you add an UV lite sterilizer to keep your pond sparkling clear without green, foggy water.
